Uzma Engineering Sdn. Bhd (“Uzma Engineering”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Uzma Berhad, had on 9 September 2008 entered into an agreement with Cheah Sun Chuang and Cheah Sung Chai (collectively “Cheah Brothers”) to acquire 35% equity interest in Oriental Motors Co. Ltd (“Oriental”), a company incorporated in Hong Kong, for purposes of participating in the role of master project manager for Baiyin Chagan, Inner Mongolia, dense petroleum block for fourteen (14) years.

Oil find in Inner Mongolia
Kuala Lumpur, 19 November 2009-UZMA Engineering Sdn Bhd’s quest in spreading it’s wings of growth in the region of Inner Mongolia is now imminent with the successful completion of the Baiyin Chagan Da-9 drilling campaign. The drilling program consist of 5-wells cluster aimed mainly at establishing a pattern for further field development and one strategic well at the neighboring field, Da-13 to extend UZMA’s vision in looking ahead for more opportunities to develop into the future.
Uzma receives NPT Reduction recognition from Petronas Carigali
Uzma has been recognised as one of the few organizations with low NPT percentages and this fact was acknowledged by us receiving a Trophy and Certification for the Reduction of Non Production Time from Petronas Carigali for the year 2009.
Uzma not only had a reduced amount of Non-Production Time, it in fact had NO LOSS in Production Times which goes to show the efficacy of the system that we have in place.
