In light of current high oil prices, our client (NOC) wanted to maximise the value of their assets by increasing the production of selected fields that were thought to be currently producing at near full capacity. Client wanted production improvement initiatives to be identified and implemented within the budget year; but lacked the in-house resources to do so.

The client was satisfied that the agreed objective had been met and that the Management System would provide their Management, Designated Authorities and the Nominated Operator with an assurance that the well design, including the assumptions and philosophy behind the design are sound, and that operations would be properly managed without compromising safety or overall field development requirements.

Our client had re-acquired Operatorship of a large and complex field after the primary PSC had expired. The Client wanted an understanding of what, if any, remaining potential existed in the field including identification of all candidates for short-term work-over and recompletion, and an assessment of medium and long-term drilling candidates. The field, which was comprised of over 85 individual reservoir compartments, had 86 wells drilled from 5 platforms.

In one of our client’s onshore fields, oil has been discovered and successfully produced from alluvial fan/fan delta reservoirs. Results from production drilling and recent interpretation from the newly acquired 3D seismic data indicate that the reservoirs are more heterogeneous both vertically and laterally than initially thought. A more accurate and representative geological model is required, and prevailing geological model need to be updated in order to gain better understanding of the reservoirs.
